In this series, I explore how confined space concentrates the gaze, allowing us to perceive the mundane in a new point. Here, the chair is an independent environment—a fragment of the world where even the simplest of things are granted significance.
I dedicated these works to the moment when physical interaction is suspended, yet the dialogue continues. Someone was here just a heartbeat ago: sitting, speaking, holding something in their hands, before stepping away. The object left upon the chair serves as an entry point into this space of memory. In observing it, we do not merely admire the form; we mentally sustain the recent conversation, reconstructing the person’s presence—the warmth of their hands, the resonance of their voice, their expressions, and their gestures.
These objects are the very threads that bind us, allowing the conversation to endure and keeping the connection between us alive.
